During this 2-hour tour you will visit the castle defences: the ravelins (protective fortifications built in front of the gates), the remains of a great wall called "Ghirlanda", and the two moats of the castle: the original moat that defended the city walls when the Visconti Castle was under construction and the one dividing the Courtyard of Arms from the Ducal Courtyard and the Rocchetta, now referred to as the dead moat.

You will visit the Sforza rooms: the Sala delle Asse decorated by Leonardo with a network of tree branches and foliage, the Room of Ducal Heraldry with its blue vault decorated with the Galezzo Sforza's coats of arms; the Ducal Chapel, the Treasure Room, and the Rooms Echelons with its red and white zigzag decorations. And then you can admire the unaccomplished Michelangelo’s Pietà.

We have 4 kids who are all now interested in art. Our guide was really personable and made the tour very compelling for the children and for us. It would otherwise have been a long 3 hours for them but they couldn't get enough! The tour was only meant to be 2 hours but our guide loved what she did so continued.
